JAMIE LYNCH FROM STEVENAGE RECEIVES COMMUNITY SENTENCE FOR POSSESSING 845 INDECENT IMAGES
In September 2017, a man from Stevenage who was found with 845 indecent images of children was sentenced to a community order.
Jamie Lynch, aged 49, pleaded guilty to possessing category C indecent images during a hearing at Stevenage magistrates' court.
The magistrates, chaired by Robert Pinkham, mandated that Lynch participate in the Horizon programme for sex offenders for a total of 35 days over the next two years.
The court also imposed a five-year sexual harm prevention order, which places restrictions on Lynch’s internet use.
This order prohibits him from using any device to hide his browsing history, from deleting or modifying his internet records, and from possessing any digital storage device unless it can be inspected by police upon request.
Furthermore, the court ordered that the computer tower, which was used to store the images discovered in June of the previous year, be forfeited and destroyed.
In addition to the community order, Lynch is required to complete a rehabilitation activity requirement, and he was fined £100.
He was also ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £85 surcharge.
