In December 2018, a disturbing case involving a sexual assault on a vulnerable young girl came to light, culminating in the sentencing of the perpetrator in Leeds Crown Court. The individual responsible, James Ralton, aged 50 and residing in the Wakefield area, was found guilty of abusing a 15-year-old autistic schoolgirl.
Ralton, who had been living in the Wakefield and Dewsbury regions since July 2019, appeared before the court to face charges related to his heinous actions.
The court proceedings revealed that Ralton had engaged in inappropriate and illegal conduct towards the young girl, exploiting her vulnerability due to her autism.
During the hearing, Ralton pleaded guilty to the child sexual offence, acknowledging his guilt in the matter.
The judge, after considering the circumstances of the case, sentenced him to nine months in prison.
Additionally, Ralton was ordered to comply with the legal requirement to register as a sex offender, a measure intended to monitor and prevent further offenses.
