DRONGAN SEX OFFENDER ON BAIL AFTER SECOND ASSAULT

A sex offender named James Hamilton, aged 21, was involved in multiple sexual offences including molestation of a 15-year-old girl and a previous attack on a young girl.

Despite being on the sex offenders register and breaching his probation, he was granted bail and committed another sex attack between June 26 and August 18 of the previous year.

Hamilton used lewd and libidinous behaviour towards a 15-year-old at a house in Drongan, forcing himself on her and sexually assaulting her after putting his arm around her.

The first victim’s mother expressed her anger and disappointment, questioning why he was allowed to commit offences while under supervision and sharing the ongoing trauma faced by her daughter.

Hamilton has accumulated seven convictions over three years, including assault, road traffic offences, breach of the peace, and drug misuse, yet he has never served time in jail.

He resides on Witch Road in Kilmarnock and is scheduled for sentencing next month.
