STOKE-ON-TRENT CHILD RAPIST STROLLS INTO COURT IN FACE MASK AFTER BEING CAUGHT WITH HUNDREDS OF SICKENING IMAGES
Judge Paul Glenn has identified 30-year-old James Green as a ‘dangerous’ individual.Green, aged 30, admitted to three charges related to creating indecent images of children and failing to adhere to publishing notification laws on the sex offenders’ register.
A man known online as 'Daddy', previously convicted of raping a child, has been sentenced to prison after being discovered with hundreds of child abuse images.
James Green, who had previous convictions for sexual assault and rape of a minor in 2011, was detained by police last March.
Officers found sickening photographs of children stored on his phone.
He was detained again in June, and police discovered additional disturbing imagery on a new phone.
Green, currently residing at Crossley Terrace South in Halifax, was described by the court as ‘dangerous’ and received a 10-month prison sentence at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.
Prosecutor Thomas Kenning detailed that during his arrests, police recovered Green’s mobile phones, which contained 137 explicit images and videos classified as category A, the most severe, along with 159 at category B and 344 at category C.
He explained: “Green used a chat platform called Emerald, with ‘Daddy’ as part of his username.
During interviews, he admitted that this was intended to attract or signal his willingness to receive images from minors.” He further admitted to communicating with individuals he believed to be under 16.
Green pleaded guilty to three counts of producing indecent images of children and breaching his sex offender notification duties.
Stephen Lee, the defendant’s lawyer, indicated that Green’s depressive state was triggered by a falling out with a close friend, which led him to use such images as a coping mechanism.
Mr.
Lee stated: “He recognizes his misconduct and wishes to change.
He has expressed remorse and has taken steps to prevent further offending.
Since June, he has not committed any additional offenses.” Judge Glenn said: “Your phones were examined by police, who found files of concern.
You used a chat handle that was inappropriate, and your failure to report this violated your legal duties.
“Your devices contained indecent images of children.
The second phone recovered in June showed continued offending behavior.
“The images included minors engaged in sexual acts across all categories.
You admitted to having sexual chats and exchanging explicit images with minors under 16.
“You selected your username to draw attention, fully aware that it would lead to detection.
The 2011 court ruling classified you as a dangerous offender, a status that remains.
“Considering the seriousness of these crimes, only a custodial sentence is appropriate.
These acts involved real children being exploited.” The defendant remains on the sex offenders’ register for life and is subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for ten years.
