CHILD RAPE CONVICT JAMES GREEN JAILED AFTER POLICE STING AND CELLAR EVIDENCE

A sick child rapist was caught trying meet a 12-year-old so he could abuse her.

Evil James Green, 35, of Vaughan Street, Halifax, messaged who he thought was a young girl called Olivia on social media app, Kik.

"Olivia" however, was actually a police constable using the site to snare predators just like Green, who already had a conviction for raping a child under the age of 13.

Prosecutor Elizabeth Noble told Bradford Crown Court on Tuesday conversation soon turned sexual and moved to Snapchat.

She told the court: "It remained sexual from the defendant's point of view.

He sent pictures of himself and his penis and videos of him masturbating.

He asked for pictures of her.

In one of his videos, he could be heard moaning and groaning." It was said Green referred to himself as "Daddy" in one of his messages.

In another, he asked her to be his girlfriend and said: "We will talk and sometimes do naughty things" and "When we meet, we can kiss and go on dates and do naughty things to each other and have sex." Green discussed meeting Olivia in the future over the course of two weeks.

Deputy Circuit Judge Clayson said: "There are a couple of occasions where he expresses that he has a desire to have sex with her." Get all the latest and breaking West Yorkshire court news straight to your inbox by signing up to our newsletter here.

The court heard officers attended Green's home on June 6 this year, and he claimed his phone was in for repair.

Due to being the subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, Green was banned from owning any devices that could access the internet unless given permission by the police.

A damaged Motorolla phone - later revealed to be the device on which he was speaking to Olivia - was discovered buried in a cellar.

Ms Noble said a PlayStation 5 was also found at his home.

Green was found to be in possession of indecent images of children at categories A, B and C, and extreme pornographic images showing adults having sex with dogs.

Mitigating, Rebecca Randall said he pleaded guilty to offences, including possession of indecent images of children and breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, at a plea, trial and preparation hearing.

It was said a pre-sentence report had been carried out.

The judge said: "His suggestion is that he felt lonely and isolated after his last licence period and he had no one to turn to so got himself a phone with a view of being arrested, not with a view to commit any further offences." "I can't accept that.

I did notice that he was voluntarily in touch with a police protection officer around the time of this offending, so clearly there was someone he could have turned to and say to 'Look, I'm at the end of my tether,' or whatever." Ms Randall said: "I have asked if he has had the opportunity to undertake courses in the past...

I raised this and he says to me that he has changed over the years and is now much more ready to accept help and learn from the help and that has happened in the last five years.

His words to me are that he wants to be a better person." "He understands he will be facing a significant time in custody.

He is more open to that help while he is in custody.

I asked him again about the victims in this matter and he said that the abuse is horrible and he understands the connection that he was, by his actions, creating a demand.

That is a step forwards for him." The judge made Green the subject of an extended sentence made up of a six-year custodial period, of which he will have to serve two-thirds of before going before the Parole Board who will determine if he is safe to be released, and a three-year extended licence period.

He was also made the subject of an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
