CLECKHEATON MAN JAILED FOR THREATENING EX OVER INDECENT IMAGES
A man named Jake Spencer, aged 27, from Cleckheaton, was involved in a serious incident where he threatened to blow up his ex-partner's house following a confrontation over indecent images found on a mobile phone.
The victim discovered pornographic content on a mobile device belonging to Spencer and reported it to the police.
When Spencer was informed, he initially denied involvement but lost his temper during a phone call.
He threatened to kill the victim and chop her new partner into little pieces, saying: 'I'm going to smash your face in and blow your house up' and 'You're lying.
I'm going to kill you'.
The victim described being appalled by the images she saw and noted Spencer's anger was primarily at her accusations.
Spencer claimed he was angry at the situation but denied any involvement with the pornographic images, asserting the phone had been in a drawer for some time and the images were too old to be his.
Despite this, he pleaded guilty to sending a grossly offensive or menacing message via a public electronic network.
The court fined him £120, with additional court costs and victim surcharges.
The District Judge acknowledged that Spencer was reacting to accusations he was not involved in, stating: 'You've been accused of something you've not done and the accusations have been spread which have caused you to react in this phone call.'
