DRUNK MAN ACCUSED OF ASSAULTING PARTNER AFTER CHILDREN'S PARTY
A drunk man threw beer over his partner then chucked the bottle at her, a court heard.The alleged attack happened after Carl Missin and his partner attended a children's birthday party on July 28 last year.
During the day the 54-year-old drank alcohol and then went out to the pub, prosecutor Natalie Chapman said.
He returned to the victim's home in Cleckheaton drunk and argued with her, Kirklees magistrates heard.
Miss Chapman said that during the row Missin threw beer over the complainant and then lobbed the bottle at her, causing her pain.
Missin, of Ealand Road in Batley, pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault by beating.
While he accepts presence at the house, he denies that any assault took place.
His trial will be held at the Huddersfield court on March 27.
He was granted unconditional bail in the meantime.
