Crewe Man Jailed for Harassing and Forcing Entry into Victim's Home

CREWE MAN JAILED FOR HARASSING AND FORCING ENTRY INTO VICTIM'S HOME

Jacob Malek, who is 31 years old and lives on Merrills Avenue in Crewe, was convicted at Warrington Magistrates' Court of harassment that left his victim in a state of fear.

The court imposed a one-year prison sentence after he pleaded guilty to stalking accompanied by threats of violence.

A restraining order was also issued, which will prevent him from contacting the victim and will remain in place for five years, expiring in 2030.

Cheshire Police revealed that Malek had previously broken into the victim’s home by climbing through a bathroom window, intensifying her anxiety and that of her children, and causing her to live in continuous fear.

The police responded to a disturbance at around 00:30 GMT on January 27, when neighbors reported hearing shouting and knocking at the victim’s residence.

It was noted that Malek had recently been released from prison and had made repeated attempts to contact her through social media, including messaging her daughter on Facebook.

During police interviews, Malek admitted that his repeated messaging and unannounced visits had caused her fear, though he maintained he had no intention of harming her.

He initially denied the charges but later changed his plea to guilty.

Detective Chief Inspector Danielle Knox expressed optimism that the victim could now move forward free from his threats and unwanted contact, highlighting the restraint order’s extension until 2030.
