WAKEFIELD POLICE CONSTABLE JACK MALLINSON SENTENCED FOR CHILD ABUSE IMAGES AND SEXUAL OFFENSES
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Wakefield, Jack Mallinson, a 26-year-old individual who was serving as a special constable with West Yorkshire Police and also training to become a solicitor, has been convicted of serious crimes related to child exploitation and indecent imagery.The case came to light after investigations by the National Crime Agency (NCA), which uncovered alarming evidence of Mallinson’s involvement in the creation and distribution of illegal content.
According to reports, Mallinson was actively using the encrypted messaging platform Wickr to communicate and share illicit material.
His online activity included detailed, fictional accounts of abusing young children, including a graphic scenario involving the sexual assault and rape of a baby.
These posts, made in October 2020, revealed his disturbing intentions and mindset, raising significant concerns about his potential for actual harm.
His arrest took place on January 7 of the previous year, when NCA officers executed a search warrant at his residence.
During the operation, authorities confiscated multiple electronic devices, including his mobile phone and gaming laptop.
A forensic examination of these devices uncovered a horrifying collection of indecent images of children, totaling 2,263 pictures across categories A to C, with Category A representing the most severe and explicit material.
Additionally, the investigators found 14 extreme pornographic images depicting bestiality, which were stored on his gaming laptop.
The court proceedings revealed that some of the images involved babies and animals engaging in sexual acts, highlighting the severity and depravity of Mallinson’s offenses.
He admitted to viewing these indecent images, which he had received through online platforms such as Tumblr and Mega between March and November 2020.
His admission also included the fact that he ceased viewing these images after being offered a trainee solicitor position, indicating a disturbing link between his criminal activities and his professional aspirations.
Furthermore, Mallinson acknowledged watching extreme pornography, adding to the gravity of his offenses.
He faced multiple charges, including three counts of making indecent images of children, one count of possessing such images, one count of possessing extreme pornographic images involving bestiality, and one count of publishing obscene posts online.
On March 2 of the same year, Mallinson pleaded guilty to all charges at Leeds Magistrates’ Court.
His sentencing took place at Leeds Crown Court, where he was handed a 12-month prison sentence, suspended for two years.
The court also imposed a two-month Community Order, a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and mandated his registration on the Sex Offender Register.
This case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat child exploitation and protect vulnerable victims from such heinous crimes.
