IRFAN FIAZ FROM ROCHDALE SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Rochdale, Irfan Mohammed Fiaz, aged 20, has been convicted and sentenced for heinous crimes involving a 14-year-old girl. The incident, which took place in October 2015, involved Fiaz manipulating the young girl into believing they were in a mature, adult relationship, only to exploit her trust for his own malicious purposes.
According to court records, Fiaz, a resident of Salik Gardens in Rochdale, engaged in a series of predatory acts against the minor.
Over the course of three separate nights in October 2015, the girl was reported missing from her home on each occasion.
It was later revealed that Fiaz had lured her to his residence during these times, where he committed acts of sexual abuse.
The court heard that he convinced her they shared a 'grown-up' relationship, a tactic used to manipulate and justify his actions.
The police investigation was initiated after concerns were raised by a vigilant member of the public, who noticed the girl’s repeated disappearances and suspicious behavior.
Law enforcement officers tracked her to Fiaz’s address, leading to his swift arrest.
During police interviews, Fiaz displayed a lack of remorse, instead shifting blame onto the young girl and dismissing his actions as her fault.
Fiaz faced multiple charges, including engaging in sexual activity with a child and child abduction.
He pleaded guilty to these offences at an earlier hearing, admitting to two counts of sexual activity with a minor and unlawfully removing her from lawful control.
His guilty plea paved the way for his sentencing, which took place on Thursday, May 5.
In court, Judge Minshull sentenced Fiaz to three years in a young offenders institution.
Additionally, he was ordered to register as a sex offender indefinitely, reflecting the severity of his crimes and the ongoing risk he poses to the community.
The case has highlighted the importance of vigilance and community involvement in protecting vulnerable minors from predatory behavior, especially in the Rochdale area.
