WATFORD MAN CHARGED WITH GROOMING AND ATTEMPTING TO MEET GIRL AFTER GROOMING
A man named Ijaz Ali, aged 26, is set to appear in crown court after allegedly attempting to meet a girl he had groomed.According to court documents, Ali, of Western Road, Southall, was accused of trying to engage in sexual communication with a child between May and June of the previous year.
The accusations include describing sexual activities he wished to engage in with the girl and conducting 'generally flirtatious behaviour' towards her.
The charges also state that he attempted to meet her and intended to do something to or in respect of her during or after the meeting, which could have involved committing sexual assault by touching.
Ali was granted bail with conditions.
He appeared in St Albans Magistrates’ Court on April 1, and the case has been transferred to St Albans Crown Court, with a plea and trial preparation hearing scheduled for April 29.
