BEESTON MAN HANDED SUSPENDED SENTENCE FOR STALKING AND STONE-THROWING
A stalker has been handed a suspended prison sentence after throwing decorative stones at a woman's house.
Ian Shelton, 50, from Cotswold Court, Beeston, was sentenced to eight months in prison, suspended for 18 months, at Nottingham Crown Court.
Judge John Burgess also ordered him to complete 25 rehabilitation activity days.
Shelton remains under a restraining order that prohibits him from contacting the victim.
The order was issued after Shelton admitted to throwing decorations at her home.
Despite denying stalking between March 1 and March 31, Shelton was convicted following a trial.
The woman reported experiencing severe emotional distress due to the incidents, having moved house, changed her car, email, and service provider out of fear that Shelton would discover her whereabouts.
The court previously deferred sentencing last August to ensure Shelton continued engaging with psychiatric services, and it was noted he had not re-offended or attempted to contact the victim since."
