A MAN EXPOSED HIMSELF TO TWO WOMEN ON A SOUTH SHIELDS STREET IN SEPARATE INCIDENTS.
A 32-year-old man named Ian Houston exposed himself on Beach Road twice within a five-day period last September.
Houston, a resident of Lutterworth Road, Longbenton, Newcastle, has been instructed to register as a sex offender for five years following the incidents in which he made unwanted advances towards at least one woman.
The court was informed that one victim described being "disgusted" and wanted to be left alone, while another victim said she felt "sick to my stomach".
Houston pleaded guilty to two counts of public exposure.
During his sentencing, he acknowledged his wrongdoing, saying, "I did it, it was wrong." District Judge Paul Currer described his actions as "childish and foolish" and emphasized the offense caused great distress.
He was also sentenced to a two-year community order, which includes completing 35 days of rehabilitation with the Probation Service, performing 100 hours of unpaid work, and paying a victim surcharge of £95 as well as £85 in court fees.
