LONGBENTON MAN AVOIDS JAIL AFTER BIZARRE HOME INVASION STALKING
Daniel Charters, 33, of Rowanberry Road, Longbenton, avoided jail after he crept into a woman's home and laid in her bed during a bizarre stalking campaign.
Charters had initially built a friendship with the victim after delivering parcels to her door, but his behaviour became increasingly obsessive.
He was waiting inside her flat when she arrived, which terrified her, prosecutors said.
The former Evri delivery driver was given a 12-month community order and a restraining order for the same period, banning him from contacting the victim or entering her home.
He left the courtroom with a criminal conviction for stalking, which caused fear or distress to the victim.
