POLICE OFFICER SACKED FOR BITING WOMAN'S BREAST AND MISCONDUCT
A police officer named PC Ian Coverdale has been dismissed from Cleveland Police after engaging in highly inappropriate and criminal behavior while on a night out.The incident involved PC Coverdale biting a woman's breast with enough force to cause injury.
Additionally, he exposed his genitals and invited the woman to touch him while they were in the back of a car.
The misconduct occurred in a public house and was captured on CCTV footage that was reviewed during the misconduct hearing.
Coverdale admitted to touching the woman and putting his head between her breasts but claimed that any bite was accidental and denied any sexual activity in the car.
The misconduct panel found his account to be untruthful and considered his behavior to be gross misconduct.
He was dismissed without notice and his name was added to the barred list, preventing him from working in policing again.
Detective Superintendent Karen Naunton publicly condemned the behavior, emphasizing that such actions are unacceptable and undermine public trust in the police force.
