LOWESTOFT MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO POSSESSING INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN
Aged 45, Iain Savage, works for Norse Group as a health and safety advisor. He was arrested at his home in January after police obtained a warrant following information from the National Crime Agency.
Savage was charged and appeared at Great Yarmouth Magistrates Court last week, where he pleaded guilty to possessing three types of indecent images of children: 1194 category A, 1299 category B, and 134 category C.
The court proceedings included a statement from chairman Brenda O'Dowd, who said, "The offences you have committed are so serious they are of greater punishment than we can give." He was released on conditional bail until a sentencing hearing scheduled for September 22 at Ipswich Crown Court.
His employer, Norse Group, stated that they were "deeply disappointed" by the situation and that Savage had satisfied all employment checks upon appointment.
They also said they had only learned of his offences on the court hearing day and that they offered police full support.
Savage sat in the dock with his eyes closed during the hearing and was found guilty of possessing indecent images of children, which is classified as a sexual abuser offence.
