GWYNEDD MAN SENTENCED TO THREE YEARS FOR ONLINE GROOMING OFFENCES
Hugh Stanley Holt, a 56-year-old man from the Blackpool area, has received a three-year prison sentence after being convicted of online grooming offences while living in Gwynedd.
Holt appeared before Preston Crown Court on March 20, where he faced charges of attempting to communicate sexually with a child.
Besides his custodial sentence, he was mandated to register as a sex offender for life and comply with sex offender notification requirements.
Holt’s arrest occurred in January 2022, when authorities suspected him of engaging in illegal online activity while residing in Llanberis, Gwynedd.
Detective Constable Dominique Swift noted her satisfaction with the outcome, highlighting the gravity of online offences and their potential impact.
She also reaffirmed the police force's dedication to safeguarding the community both digitally and physically.
