CHESIRE MUM AVOIDS JAIL AFTER VIOLENT ASSAULT ON DAUGHTERS DURING FAMILY HOLIDAY
A woman named Hayley Wejs, aged 32 from Crewe, Cheshire, has been branded 'the worst mum ever' after she violently assaulted her two daughters, aged ten and thirteen, during a family holiday. She lashed out at the children, who complained they could not go swimming with their friends, by Shoving the younger girl into a car window and punching the older one.
The incident occurred in Cornwall while she was with her kids and her new boyfriend.
During the assault, one of the girls screamed 'you're the worst mum ever'.
The children told their father, who is estranged from Wejs, about what happened, prompting social workers to question her.
She openly admitted to giving her children a 'clip around the ear' when they misbehaved, citing frustration and challenging behavior as reasons.
The court heard that in August of the previous year, Wejs traveled to Cornwall with her children and her boyfriend.
The situation escalated when the daughters complained about a planned trip, preferring to swim with pals instead.
She then turned violent, grabbing her youngest daughter's hair and slamming her head against the car roof and window.
Later that day, the older girl claimed Wejs had assaulted her in the caravan, grabbing her in a headlock, slapping her, biting her cheek, and punching her in the nose, resulting in her seeing blood.
The girl also reported feeling dizzy and unable to breathe properly and called her dad.
Back home, the girl showed signs of injury, including a black eye.
Wejs tried to justify her actions by claiming the girls had been swearing at her and testing her patience, but the court condemned her behavior as 'violent and unforgivable.' She has no prior convictions but was handed a three-month suspended sentence, ordered to wear a tag with a curfew, and required to complete 12 rehabilitation days to address her rage.
The judge emphasized that her actions caused harm to her children and condemned them as a breach of trust and a serious abuse of her parental responsibilities.
