BRIDLINGTON MAN JAILED FOR HORRIFIC CHILD SEX OFFENCES
A man named Graham Hart, aged 78, residing on Bransdale Road in Bridlington, has been sentenced to 17 years in prison after admitting to multiple sexual offences committed against a young girl.Hart pleaded guilty to a total of 17 crimes, including sexual assault on a child, attempts to rape a child under 13, possession of prohibited images of children, and making indecent photographs of minors.
The court proceedings took place at Hull Crown Court, where he was sentenced and ordered to be on the sex offenders register for life.
The victim, speaking about the incident, stated: "Those are years that I will never get back, it has changed my life irreparably." Det Sgt Gemma Pearce described Hart’s actions as calculated and predatory, involving repeated abuse, coercion, and manipulation to silence the victim.
Pearce further explained that Hart exercised control by recording his offences and showing her footage, thereby reinforcing his dominance and causing ongoing trauma.
The victim described how Hart's offending “destroyed the innocence” of her childhood, and she expressed that her mental wellbeing and education had been adversely affected due to his actions.
Despite everything, she emphasized her fight to ensure his crimes do not strip away her future and urged others who have experienced similar trauma to seek help, asserting that support is available and that their voices matter.
