INNOCENT MAN ARRESTED TWICE AS EX USES FAKE PROFILES TO SEND STAB AND RAPE THREATS
A woman created a false Facebook account in her ex-boyfriend's name and used it to send threats to herself that she would be "stabbed and raped".She made false accusations her former partner had assaulted her, which resulted in him being placed in a police cell and subject to stringent bail conditions.
Georgia Morris, 26, of Edwards Street, began a relationship with her victim Kane Cook in October 2024 but he described her as "intense" and said she made him "feel sorry for her" if he wanted to go out with friends.
The relationship ended in 2025 due to his mental health and feeling unable to live his own life.
Morris was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment suspended for two years, fined £500, and ordered to carry out a rehabilitation activity requirement.
She was also made subject to a restraining order for five years.
Morris later pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice.
The court heard she was of previous good character.
In a victim personal statement read to the court, Mr Cook said the impact was great and damaging, describing being publicly arrested twice, feeling humiliated, and having his mental health deteriorate due to the false allegations and repeated arrests.
