GEORGE GRANT FROM KELTY SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC CHILD ABUSE IN DALGETY BAY
A man identified as George Grant, hailing from Kelty, has been officially condemned for a series of heinous physical and sexual abuses inflicted upon young children over a span of more than a decade.The court proceedings revealed the disturbing details of Grant’s actions, which included extreme acts of violence and cruelty directed at vulnerable victims.
According to court records, one young girl endured a terrifying ordeal where a plastic bag was tightly wrapped around her head, depriving her of air, while deodorant was forcibly sprayed into her mouth.
In addition, she was struck over the head with a chair, leaving her with physical injuries and lasting trauma.
Another child was subjected to degrading treatment, being forced to eat his dinner off the floor in a humiliating display of dominance and control.
Multiple victims reported being punched and kicked from a very young age, with the abuse occurring at various properties in Dalgety Bay.
George Grant, aged 63, appeared before Dunfermline Sheriff Court via video link from prison to face sentencing.
He had been remanded in custody after a jury found him guilty of numerous charges following a trial.
One of the victims described Grant as a “monster,” highlighting the severity and brutality of his actions.
The court found Grant guilty of multiple offenses against six children, including physical assaults involving kicking, punching, head injuries, and dragging.
Evidence also showed that Grant used objects such as chairs and plastic bags in ways that caused harm and inflicted pain.
Beyond the physical abuse, the court heard about Grant’s inappropriate and lewd conduct involving girls as young as 12.
These acts included making sexually explicit remarks, encouraging victims to watch pornographic videos, and suggesting they play strip poker, further demonstrating a pattern of sexually abusive behavior.
Sheriff Charles Macnair sentenced George Grant to five years in prison for his crimes.
Additionally, the court imposed indefinite non-harassment orders to ensure the protection of the victims from any further contact or harm.
The judge emphasized the gravity of the offenses committed and indicated that the case might be referred to the High Court for consideration of longer sentencing options, given the severity of the crimes.
