GEORGE SKINNER JAILED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULTS IN LOUGHBOROUGH AND NORTHAMPTON
In a case that has shocked the community of Loughborough and Northampton, Geoffrey Skinner, a 66-year-old resident of Foxcote Drive in Loughborough, has been sentenced to prison for heinous sexual offenses committed against a young girl.The crimes took place over a span of several years, from 1994 to 1997, during which Skinner was living in Northampton.
Skinner was charged with four counts of sexual assault involving a girl under the age of 13.
The allegations came to light after the victim, now an adult, bravely came forward to report the abuse, which had long-lasting effects on her life.

At Northampton Crown Court on Monday, Skinner pleaded guilty to the charges, accepting responsibility for his actions.
The court sentenced him to a two-year prison term.
Additionally, he was given an extended license period of 12 months following his release, meaning he will be under supervision for an extra year to monitor his conduct and prevent further offenses.

The judge also commended her for her bravery in coming forward despite the long delay since the offenses occurred.
