LOUGHBOROUGH MAN FACES CHILD SEX AND DRUG SUPPLY CHARGES
A Loughborough man is facing serious charges involving alleged sexual communication with a child and drug offences after his case was transferred to Leicester Crown Court.Darryl John Hughes appeared before magistrates earlier this year and the case has now been adjourned to 27th October 2025 for a plea hearing.
Hughes will be given the opportunity to enter a plea before a judge at Leicester Crown Court.
Court documents show Hughes is accused of: Attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child between 31st October 2023 and 2nd November 2023 Attempting to cause or incite a girl aged 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity (no penetration) within the same period Possession with intent to supply a Class B drug – cannabis, between 1st January 2022 and 2nd November 2023 If Hughes pleads not guilty, a full trial will be arranged, and witnesses may be called to give evidence.
If he pleads guilty, sentencing could take place either at the plea hearing or at a later date.
