HALIFAX MAN BRAGS ON FACEBOOK AFTER PUNCHING PREGNANT WOMAN IN DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ATTACK
A man named Gareth Warne has been involved in domestic violence incidents in Halifax.He was caught on camera assaulting a pregnant woman, Ashleigh Booth, leaving her with a burst eardrum, cuts, and bruises after an attack in November.
Warne, who is her partner, was filmed punching her to the floor as she tried to defend herself, and then walked away while she was injured.
Ashleigh shared a video of the attack to raise awareness about domestic abuse, and indicated she had experienced such incidents for over a year.
Warne was convicted of assault and received a community order along with a restraining order to stay away from the victim.
Despite this, Warne took to Facebook afterwards to gloat, writing 'Haha fun and games' and 'Looks like am famous believe what ya want people', bragging about the incident and the video circulating online.
The police confirmed they investigated the case, arresting Warne on the same day the assault was reported, and he appeared in court on November 6, 2017.
The police also stated they are supporting the victim and further communication is ongoing.
