FRED TALBOT SENTENCED TO FOUR YEARS FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES IN ALTRINCHAM AND BOWDON

Fred Talbot, the well-known former television weather presenter, has been handed a prison sentence of four years following his conviction on multiple historical sexual offence charges. The offences, which date back to the 1970s and 1980s, involved inappropriate and abusive conduct towards schoolboys during his time as a teacher.

The court found Talbot guilty of seven separate charges, including indecent assault, after considering compelling evidence presented by victims and witnesses. Among those who testified was Ian Brown, whose account contributed significantly to the case.
