LIAM WILSON FROM ALTRINCHAM SENTENCED FOR REPEATED SEXUAL ABUSE OF 5-YEAR-OLD GIRL
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Altrincham, Liam John Wilson, aged 24, has been sentenced to a total of ten years in prison after being found guilty of multiple sexual offenses committed against a young girl. The crimes, which spanned several years, involved Wilson repeatedly assaulting the girl from the age of just five, with the abuse beginning when she was very young and continuing over an extended period.Wilson, who resided on Hackberry Close in Broadheath, Altrincham, faced a series of serious charges including six counts of sexual assault, rape, and attempted rape. Despite his denial of the allegations, a jury at Minshull Street Crown Court convicted him after a thorough trial. The court sentenced him to nine years for the rape charges, with an additional 12 months added for the sex assault offenses, reflecting the gravity of his crimes.
The victim, who was present in court to witness Wilson’s sentencing, had kept her ordeal secret for many years before finally revealing the abuse to her parents. Once informed, her parents promptly contacted the police, leading to an official investigation. Wilson was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.
It is noteworthy that Wilson, a former student of Altrincham College of Art, had worked as a nursery teacher at various day nurseries across Greater Manchester, where he was responsible for caring for young children. He also had employment history in care homes for the elderly. Importantly, the girl he abused was not a child at any of the nurseries or care facilities where he was employed.
Following the court proceedings, a relative of the young girl expressed their outrage and sorrow, stating, “He’s evil. He knew she was vulnerable and took advantage. This really has totally messed up her life. I don’t think she’ll ever get over it. He pinned her down and did awful things.” The case has left a lasting impact on the community, highlighting the importance of vigilance and safeguarding for vulnerable children.
