FRANK GIBBON JAILED FOR BREACH OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ORDER
A County Durham man has been jailed for 56 days after breaching a domestic violence protection order.
Frank Gibbon, 38, of Sycamore Gardens, Crook, appeared at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court on September 26.
Gibbon admitted that, on the same day, he was found inside a designated address, despite a domestic violence protection order being made against him by Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court just two days earlier, on September 24.
The court heard that Gibbon’s actions were in direct breach of the protection order, which was designed to prevent him from entering the address.
Magistrates described the offence as showing a "flagrant disregard for court orders" and sentenced him to 56 days in prison under section 63 of the Magistrates’ Courts Act 1980.
No order for prosecution costs was made.
