BRADFORD BURGLAR JAILED FOR ELDERLY PENSION THEFT

Bradford burglar Hanrahan broke into an elderly woman's home to steal her pension money so he could spend it on drugs.

He was on licence at the time for similar crimes against elderly people when he tricked his way into the 85-year-old's property.

He asked her for £15 to fix her roof tiles.

She wanted to call her son but he made his way further inside, asking her if he could use the toilet.

The woman took two £10 notes out of her jam jar to get rid of him but he grabbed the cash and took another £180 from the jar, before running away.

He was arrested later that night and was jailed in October for 45 months.
