FABRICE GUE FROM BANCHORY AND OBAN SENTENCED FOR CHILD INDECENCY IMAGES
In a disturbing case that has shocked the local communities of Banchory and Oban, Fabrice Gue, a 43-year-old man with ties to both locations, was sentenced to a year in prison after admitting to possessing indecent images of children.The court proceedings revealed the extent of Gue's criminal activities, which involved the use of a secret computer system protected by a password he chose as 'Lord of Scotland'.
Gue, a French national, was employed as the general manager at the prestigious Isle of Eriska Hotel, a renowned luxury establishment near Oban.
During his tenure there, he hosted numerous high-profile guests, adding a layer of notoriety to his criminal actions.
Despite his professional success, Gue's personal conduct was marred by the possession of highly disturbing material.
The court heard that Gue accessed a hidden peer system on his computer, where he stored depraved images depicting children aged between three and 15.
The images were retrieved from his personal computer, which he used to harbor these illicit files.
The investigation uncovered that Gue had used the password 'Lord of Scotland' to access this system, indicating a disturbing sense of arrogance or perhaps an attempt to conceal his activities.
Gue's address was listed as The Stables, Raemoir House Hotel, in Banchory, Aberdeenshire, although his criminal activities spanned multiple locations.
The court also found that between 2010 and 2012, Gue either took or allowed photographs of a young girl to be taken at his residence, known as Piglet, which was situated on the grounds of the Isle of Eriska estate or at other properties he owned or frequented.
The images recovered from Gue’s computer depicted children in various states of distress, with ages ranging from three to 15 years old.
The severity of the case was underscored by the fact that Gue not only possessed these images but also engaged in activities that involved photographing minors in an indecent manner.
At the sentencing hearing held at Oban Sheriff Court, Gue was visibly distressed, collapsing and weeping on the courtroom floor as the judge handed down the sentence.
He was sentenced to 12 months in prison and was also placed on the sex offenders register for a period of ten years, a measure designed to monitor and restrict his activities following his release.
