MIDDLESBROUGH SEX OFFENDER EDWIN YOULL CONVICTED OF HORRIFIC SEXUAL ASSAULTS
A violent sex offender, Edwin Youll, aged 62, has been convicted of physically and sexually abusing four women in Middlesbrough.The court heard how Youll routinely subjected his victims to both physical and sexual violence over a period of a decade.
One woman was repeatedly held against her will and forced to perform sexual acts, enduring as much as 16 hours of abuse before being allowed to leave.
Another victim revealed that Youll began sexually abusing her when she was a child.
David Lee, the Senior Crown Prosecutor, stated that Youll exploited women and girls for his sexual satisfaction, resorting to threat and violence when they resisted.
The court described his actions as 'truly shocking,' with victims suffering brutal injuries and prolonged sexual attacks.
The investigation, part of Operation Pandect, was sparked by brave women who came forward and shared their experiences, enabling police to build a strong case.
Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Hodgson from Cleveland Police commended their bravery.
Youll was found guilty and will now face the consequences of his crimes.

Edwin Youll was today sentenced at Teesside Crown Court, after he was found guilty of 26 charges following a trial in July this year.
63-year-old Edwin Youll, of Bexley Drive, Normanby, targeted vulnerable women and children and became violent towards them if they did not do as he commanded.
He used his job as an unlicensed taxi driver to drive women around and target them, and on occasion used knives to facilitate his offending.
