PETERHEAD MAN JAILED FOR STALKING AND TAKING SECRET PHOTOS OF WOMEN
A man named Dylan Waugh, aged 22, was found guilty of a series of disturbing crimes including persistent stalking, sexual messaging, and indecent image possession. He targeted four women over several years with unwanted sexual messages, obscene calls, and secretly took nearly 1,000 photographs of women’s bodies at various locations in Peterhead, including at the local Asda store where he was employed.
His actions extended to sending sexual images of himself and demanding items of worn clothing from victims, often using multiple social media accounts to evade detection.
The victims, who were as young as 14, faced immense distress, receiving crude comments, silent calls, and explicit images.
The breakthrough came when one victim traced his number via WhatsApp and identified him from a profile picture.
Police arrested Waugh in May 2020, discovering on his devices numerous images of clothed women and children, including over 900 photos taken without consent at the store.
Three women confirmed they were unaware of the photos being taken, with some describing feeling shocked or physically sick.
The police also found 22 indecent images of children, mostly of girls aged 7 to 13.
Waugh pleaded guilty to four stalking charges, possessing indecent images of children, and breaching peace.
The court sentenced him to a community payback order, including supervision for three years, 150 hours of unpaid work, a nine-month curfew, and a four-year non-harassment order.
Additionally, he must adhere to device restrictions and registration under the Sexual Offences Act for three years.
