DYLAN ELLIOT WAS FOUND GUILTY BY A HIGH COURT JURY OF PREYING ON TWO GIRLS, WHO WERE AGED JUST 14 AND 15 — RAPING ONE OF THEM TWICE.
THE violent Greenock rapist jailed for attacking underage girls in the town, Dylan Elliot — who was given a ten-year sentence — is pictured in three social media images he posted on an account whilst using the name 'Dylan McCready'.Sources yesterday confirmed the photos to be of 25-year-old Elliot, whose litany of previous convictions for violence was referred to at his triple rape sentencing hearing last Friday.
Police Scotland was approached by the Telegraph to release an image of the dangerous offender as a matter of significant public interest.
But the force refused, saying they did 'not have an image to release on this occasion'.
Elliot was found guilty by a High Court jury of preying on two girls, who were aged just 14 and 15 — raping one of them twice.
His 'propensity for violence' was referred to by judge D.
A.
Brown after a pre-sentencing background report described Elliot as being of high, or very high, risk of reoffending.
Elliot was evicted from his former home on Bawhirley Road in 2017 after tormenting his neighbours by hurling a succession of lit fireworks at their houses.
He was cleared by a trial in 2018, despite a sheriff accepting that he invited a 13-year-old girl to his flat after telling her that she was 'a belter'.
Sheriff Eric Brown 'totally rejected' Elliott's alibi defence, declared he had 'no doubts' about the truthfulness of the girls' evidence but found him 'not guilty' of breaking the law.
He ruled that evidence to prove a charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner had 'not been established to the required standard'.
Back in 2016, Elliot made threats of violence towards a 67-year-old pensioner and shouted and swore at the man.
He was convicted last year of carrying out an unprovoked assault to injury on a man after being ordered to leave a house party.
Elliot committed two further serious offences whilst remanded in custody for the rapes and received custodial sentences for assault and possession of an offensive weapon.
He was given a ten-year extended sentence for the rapes, the custodial part of which has been set at eight years.
Judge Brown told him: "You have a history of violent offending, which is clearly of relevance given the presence of violence in these offences."
