OFFENDER SENTENCED AFTER STALKING AND POSSESSION OF INDECENT IMAGES
A stalker who entered a woman's home while she was away and was found in possession of indecent images has been sentenced.
After appearing in court, Domonic Hannon, 38, of Deerleap Drive in Arnold, has been put on the Sex Offenders' Register for five years and given a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
It comes after reports he had posted inappropriate images of a woman and a child on the internet in August 2018.
It was then reported Hannon had stalked the woman, entering her house while she was away to take pictures of her possessions and had downloaded multiple images from her social media profiles.
He was arrested by Nottinghamshire Police and charged with possession of indecent images and stalking.
He appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday, August 25, where he pleaded guilty to the offences.
He was sentenced to a two-year community order and a 35-day Rehabilitation Activity Requirement.
Hannon was also given a restraining order until further notice, as well as a destruction order for devices.
Detective Constable Rachael Shooter, who oversaw the investigation, said: “Stalking is an obsessive behaviour that can cause incredible levels of distress for victims.” “It can leave people feeling terrified and can have a huge impact on day to day life.
“As a force, we will always investigate reports of stalking and take incidents very seriously.
Hannon’s actions will have undoubtedly caused distress to his victim.
“Intruding on his victim’s life in this way is shocking and I would like to commend the victim for their bravery throughout this case.
If you think you or someone you know may be a victim or perpetrator of stalking you should ring 101 to report to Police or you can get help and advice from the Stalking Advocacy Service on 0115 9476490 (for women) or 0115 9605556 (for men).”
