Two men have been sentenced to prison after being convicted of raping a woman in Winsford.
Diyar Mohammed Abdulsalm and Dilgash Adil, both residents of Ledward Street in Winsford, appeared before Chester Crown Court on Friday, July 24, to receive their sentences.
Abdulsalm, aged 28, received an 11-year term following his conviction on two counts of rape.
Adil, aged 32, was also sentenced to 11 years after being found guilty of a single count of rape.
Both individuals, who are Syrian nationals, are required to register as sex offenders for an indefinite period.
The incident came to light at approximately 4.55am on Sunday, December 21, when police responded to reports involving an 18-year-old woman in Winsford.
The woman, who had been out in the town that night, had reportedly engaged in conversation with the two men and later traveled with them to their residence.
Authorities later located the woman near The Drumber in Winsford.
During questioning, she revealed that she had been raped.
Abdulsalm and Adil were subsequently detained and charged based on this information.
