PAEDOPHILE TAEKWONDO COACH JAILED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULTS ON YOUNG CHILDREN
A 44-year-old taekwondo coach named Diego Solarte has been handed a nine-year prison term after sexually abusing two young children. The abuse happened both at the children’s residence and during group classes, spanning from 2018 to 2021.
Solarte provided false information to police, claiming that the first victim had fabricated the allegations because they no longer wanted to participate in taekwondo.
At the Inner London Crown Court, it was detailed how Solarte abused his trusted position to carry out these morally reprehensible acts, which included inappropriate touching of one of the children while he was employed as their family’s taekwondo instructor.
The case was supported by the courageous testimonies of the victims, and their family voiced gratitude to the police, especially Detective Constable Mel Jordan, for their compassionate and diligent work.
They expressed their thanks for the justice achieved and urged other victims to step forward.
Jurors saw through Solarte’s denials and lies, uncovering a pattern of grooming, manipulation, and betrayal.
The investigation highlighted how an adult in a position of trust can exploit children in both public classes and private settings.
The children’s family stated, “We are forever grateful to the officers who worked tirelessly to bring justice for our children.
We urge others who have experienced similar abuse to contact the police.
Detective Jordan’s empathy and persistent efforts gave us hope during our darkest times.
It is comforting to know that justice has been done and that measures are in place to protect others.
Solarte’s crimes have caused lasting damage, yet his conviction underscores the importance of safeguarding vulnerable children from predators who abuse their trust and authority.”
