DEDIKI MOSI FROM BOLTON SENTENCED FOR RAPE IN WIGAN TAXI CRIME
A disturbing case of sexual assault has culminated in the conviction and imprisonment of Dediki Mosi, a 37-year-old taxi driver from Bolton, who committed a heinous act against a young woman during a ride in Wigan.On the evening of September 19, 2020, Mosi picked up a 29-year-old woman after she had been out with friends.
The incident took place in Wigan, where Mosi, instead of fulfilling his role as a responsible driver, subjected the woman to a brutal sexual assault inside his taxi.
The victim, who was vulnerable after a night out, trusted Mosi to ensure her safe return home, but instead, she was betrayed by his monstrous actions.
Following the assault, the woman reported the incident to the authorities, leading to an investigation that eventually brought Mosi to trial.
During the proceedings at Manchester Crown Court, Mosi maintained his innocence, pleading not guilty to the charges.
However, the jury did not accept his defense and found him guilty of rape and two counts of sexual assault.
Det Con Sally-Anne Skellern, who was involved in the case, expressed her condemnation of Mosi’s actions, stating, "Mosi should have been the person who got her home safely, instead he raped her in his taxi." Her comments underscore the betrayal of trust and the severity of the crime committed.
