BOLTON MAN JAILED AFTER BREACHING RESTRAINING ORDER
A man from Bolton has been jailed after breaching a restraining order.
Dean Hill, aged 31, contacted people who he was prohibited from contacting on Thursday, October 23, just two months after a restraining order had been imposed by Manchester Magistrates' Court in August.
Hill, of Crossdale Road, Breightmet, indicated a guilty plea to the offence of harassment, breach of a restraining order on conviction, on Saturday, October 25, at the same court.
Magistrates gave him his sentence on Saturday, taking his guilty plea into account.
However, they chose to imprison him for 12 months, saying that his offence was so serious that only a custodial sentence could be justified.
Magistrates described him as having a "flagrant disregard for court orders".
