CARDENDEN BOTS ASSAULTED: FIFE MAN JAILED
A man aged 37 has been sentenced to 16 months in prison following convictions for assaulting two boys aged 11 and 12.One of the victims was grabbed by the throat, dragged downstairs, and injured after hitting his head.
David Thomson, who was previously residing on Allison Street in Kirkcaldy and recently at Glebe Park in Strathmiglo, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for sentencing on multiple charges.
He pleaded guilty to several incidents occurring between April 1 and June 6 at two addresses in Cardenden, where he assaulted a 12-year-old boy by repeatedly grabbing his throat and body, dragging him downstairs, and causing him to hit his head, resulting in injury.
Additionally, Thomson admitted to shouting, swearing, and making threats of violence toward the same boy on May 25 at the same locations.
He also confessed to assaulting an 11-year-old boy on various occasions between March 1 and June 6 in Cardenden, by slapping him repeatedly on the head and body, which led to injuries.
Thomson further breached bail conditions by contacting minors in Kirkcaldy, despite being instructed not to.
He also admitted to a separate incident on June 11 last year in Cardenden, where he displayed aggressive behavior, shouted and swore repeatedly, punched and kicked windows, and threatened violence.
On September 1 of the previous year, at an address in Oakley, he shouted, swore, acted aggressively toward his then partner, and damaged a table.
The June 11 incident occurred when sheriff officers and a housing officer came to evict Thomson; he threatened to kill the housing officer several times, punched and kicked windows after refusing entry, and behaved violently.
Defense lawyer Aime Allan stated her client "accepts he has an issue with his anger" and noted that "he can present as quite aggressive though he does not mean to."
