SEX OFFENDER JAILED FOR BREACHING COURT ORDER
A sex offender has been sentenced to prison following yet another violation of a court order designed to safeguard the public.David Norbury, residing on Shores Green Drive in Wincham, appeared before Chester Crown Court on November 25 to be sentenced on two criminal charges.
The 52-year-old had previously admitted to failing to register as a sex offender and breaching a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO).
He did not inform authorities about an online alias, TrendyBear109758, which was a requirement under the sex offenders register.
Additionally, Norbury was present at an address with a child under 16, a violation of the SHPO, between June 25 and August 27 of this year.
Judge Patrick Thompson sentenced him to two years in prison, emphasising that the nature of the offences left no alternative but custodial detention.
He received a four-month sentence for neglecting to update his information on the sex offenders register, which will be served consecutively to the 20-month sentence for breaching the SHPO.
This incident marks Norbury's second breach of an SHPO in three years; the previous breach earned him an eight-week sentence when he deleted his internet search history against the court's orders.
