HASLINGDEN MAN CHARGED WITH DOMESTIC ASSAULT AND PROPERTY DAMAGE
A young man named David Flood, aged 26, was involved in a domestic assault incident in Haslingden.He grabbed his former partner, Victoria Moore, by the throat and squeezed until she couldn't breathe after she asked if he was seeing someone else.
He also snatched her purse, took £7, and caused damage by kicking out at the front door, which resulted in £350 worth of damage.
Flood was charged with common assault and damage.
He has a criminal record with 10 previous convictions.
During the court hearing at Burnley Magistrates, it was noted that Flood admitted to losing his temper during the incident but maintained he would support his child.
He was bailed until May 9 for a pre-sentence report, with the sentence yet to be determined.
