HASLINGDEN MAN GUILTY OF HARASSMENT AFTER THREATENING PREGNANT EX-PARTNER
A man named Oliver Taylor, aged 20, residing on Manchester Road in Haslingden, admitted to making threats against his former pregnant partner and her unborn child after learning she was pregnant by someone else.Magistrates heard that Taylor had been controlling and abusive throughout their relationship.
The victim reported feeling so scared of Taylor that she wouldn’t leave her home unless accompanied and even gave up her college course to avoid encounters with him.
Taylor pleaded guilty to harassment that caused the victim to fear violence and was remanded on bail for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
The prosecution highlighted that Taylor had continued to contact her in violation of bail conditions, warning her not to report him to the police.
The defense acknowledged that Taylor had no prior convictions and has learning difficulties, admitting to sending threatening messages.
