COLNE MAN, 38, GUILTY OF SMASHING TV AFTER DISPUTE
A MAN named David Brown, aged 38, from Clifford Street, Colne, was involved in an incident where he caused damage to a television by smashing it during a heated argument.
The court heard how Brown and his former partner had a row before he left.
He later returned drunk and, following a dispute over perceived drug abuse, he threw the £600 television to the floor and stamped on it.
Brown admitted to causing the damage and was sentenced to an 18-month conditional discharge along with an order to pay £50 in court costs.
The incident was further contextualized by his past, as he had pleaded guilty earlier in February to supplying heroin and was given a 12-month community order and nine months of drug rehabilitation.
Despite his actions, Brown expressed remorse, having replaced the damaged TV and apologized, with both parties wishing to move past the incident.
