PWLLHELI MAN JAILED FOR BREACHING RESTRAINING ORDER AND ASSAULTING EX-PARTNER
A man from Pwllheli has been imprisoned after he violated a restraining order by approaching his former partner’s home and grabbing her arm.
David Andrew Roberts, aged 36, appeared at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on January 12, and faced charges of common assault along with breach of the restraining order.
He received a sentence of 22 weeks behind bars.
On January 8, police responded to reports indicating that Roberts had visited his ex-partner’s address, physically grabbed her, and requested entry, despite the court having issued a restraining order on January 1.
District Inspector Darren Kane commented: “Those who disregard court-imposed orders will face consequences, as shown by today’s outcome.
Roberts violated the restrictions meant to safeguard his victim, which undoubtedly caused her fear and distress.
I commend her for having the courage to report this breach and hope that the sentence provides reassurance.”
