2006: BOLTON MAN JAILED FOR SAVAGE ASSAULTS ON GIRLFRIEND AND LANDLADY
2006: A violent offender who assaulted a landlady in the town centre and also attacked his girlfriend has been sentenced to two years in jail at Bolton Crown Court.Darren Waddilove, aged 38 from Haydock Street, Bolton, was convicted following an incident at the Balmoral pub in Bradshawgate on March 23 last year, where he entered intoxicated and punched Marina Webster multiple times.
The court heard that Webster pushed him onto the pavement, causing him to fall, but he quickly got up and retaliated with several punches.
Waddilove also assaulted his partner, Jane Silver, 26, at their residence on Haydock Street in January.
Prosecutor Adrian Dugdale explained that the attack occurred when neighbor Kieran McIntyre visited the flat at about 11 pm.
Jealousy over Silver’s relationship with McIntyre led Waddilove to slam the door and slap Silver across the face, resulting in a serious cut on her nose.
He was arrested the following morning but became aggressive again upon returning to the flat and finding McIntyre present.
During the incident, he struck Silver multiple times with a mobile phone and kicked her in the back.
He pleaded guilty to two counts of actual bodily harm and one of grievous bodily harm.
Judge Brian Carter sentenced Waddilove to two years, condemning his conduct as a despicable act of violence towards women, and noted that while jealousy and anger played a role, they do not justify such violence.
