Daniel Thomas, aged 31 and residing on Thornton Close in Roche, appeared before Truro Crown Court to face sentencing after being convicted by a jury on charges of attempted rape and sexual assault.

During the sentencing hearing, Judge Simon Carr emphasized the severity of the case, recounting how the victim had clearly expressed her lack of consent, stating she did not want to engage in sexual activity.

If men see me like this, they won’t find me attractive.
I know there is nothing to be ashamed of and discussing mental health is important but one day I will have to explain to my children why I look like this.” Furthermore, the victim shared that the trauma of the assault was reawakened during the trial process, causing her to relive the painful experience and making her feel physically ill.
