LEICESTERSHIRE MAN JAILED FOR COERCIVE CONTROL AND ASSAULT
A man who police stated exerted control over his partner by dictating her eating habits and sleeping schedule before assaulting her has been sentenced.Leicestershire Police reported that Daniel Sih controlled his victim's behavior over several years during their cohabitation in Market Harborough.
His crimes came to light after he physically attacked her in June 2020.
The 41-year-old, from Desborough, Northamptonshire, was sentenced to 27 months in prison at Leicester Crown Court.
Images show Daniel Sih, and reports detail that he used her money for personal luxuries, such as going on holiday alone and buying a watch with her earnings.
The victim described his behavior as verbally abusive, and that he often became violent, causing bruises.
Sih admitted to assault and coercive control, and a restraining order was issued preventing contact with the victim.
Detective Constable Robin Bonell praised the victim’s bravery in speaking out and expressed hope she could move on now he is serving his sentence.
