ATHERTON MAN SENTENCED FOR ONLINE SEXUAL COMMUNICATIONS WITH MINORS
A man from Atherton, Daniel Lomax, 32, who served in the Royal Logistics Core, sent sexual messages to what he believed were two 13-year-old girls online.
These messages were part of a setup by police decoys.
The court heard that Lomax first contacted one of the profiles on Kik in June 2021, which claimed to be a 13-year-old girl and mentioned being at school.
Lomax repeatedly requested pictures and urged the girl to perform sexual activities on herself.
He later contacted another account also claiming to be 13.
He also asked for photos and at one point stated he was engaging in sexual activity on himself.
After August 21, there was no further contact, and officers arrested him at his home on August 24.
Lomax admitted to two counts of attempted sexual communication with a child and one of attempting to incite a child into sexual activity.
The court sentenced him to a two-year suspended sentence, ordered him to undergo a sex offender program and attend 35 rehabilitation activity days, and placed him on the sex offender register for ten years.
