MAN JAILED FOR ONLINE GROOMING
Daniel Kennedy appeared at Chester Crown Court on Friday, May 22, where he was sentenced to a 13-month jail term.He was also handed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order valid for ten years and was ordered to register on the sex offenders register.
The 36-year-old man from Winterley, who lives on Crewe Road, admitted to one count of online sexual communication with a minor.
The court was told that Kennedy initially contacted his victim using social media in October 2024, claiming to be a 15-year-old boy.
After several exchanges, he sent indecent images to the girl and pressed her to share images of herself.
This activity was uncovered in December 2024 after the victim’s mother discovered her daughter viewing such images on her phone and alerted authorities.
Subsequent police inquiries resulted in Kennedy’s arrest and formal charges related to the case.
