BANBURY RAPIST PATRYK KUBACZ AND TWO OTHERS SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC ATTACK NEAR TRAIN STATION
In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community near Banbury train station, three men have been convicted and sentenced for their involvement in a brutal and prolonged sexual assault on a woman.The incident took place in an abandoned shack close to the station, where the victim was subjected to a heinous attack that lasted through the night.
Patryk Kubacz, a 31-year-old resident of Edinburgh Way in Banbury, was found guilty of multiple serious charges, including four counts of rape, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, threatening with a bladed article in a private setting, and non-fatal strangulation.
Despite these convictions, he was acquitted of two additional counts of rape, one of assault, and one of threatening with a blade.
Kubacz was sentenced to 19 years in prison, reflecting the gravity of his crimes.
Alongside him, Damian Sidor, aged 28, and Jaroslaw Szklarski, aged 57, both of no fixed address, were also convicted for their roles in the assault.
Sidor was found guilty of one count of rape and was acquitted of attempted rape and sexual assault.
Szklarski was convicted of rape and pleaded guilty to sexual assault.
Both men received sentences of 11 years each.
The police report indicates that the attack occurred between 22:00 GMT on April 12, 2024, and midday the following day.
During the assault, the victim was threatened with a knife and coerced into taking drugs by the offenders.
Fortunately, she managed to escape from her captors and sought help from a member of the public, who promptly contacted law enforcement authorities.
Detective Constable Charis Fernley from Thames Valley Police described the incident as ‘truly shocking, abhorrent, and sustained,’ highlighting the severity and brutality of the attack.
She emphasized the police’s unwavering commitment to investigating sexual offences thoroughly and ensuring justice is served for victims.
All three men will be registered on the sex offenders register for life, underscoring the serious consequences of their actions and the ongoing efforts to protect the community from such offenders.
