SOMALIAN RAPIST ALLOWED TO STAY IN UK COMMITS MORE BRUTAL ASSAULTS
Convicted Somalian rapist Dahir Ibrahim, 31, from Handsworth, was allowed to remain in Britain after overturning a deportation order.Despite his previous sentence of 10 years for a rape committed in 2005 in Birmingham, he fought to stay in the UK and succeeded.
Subsequently, he went on to commit two additional brutal rapes in 2014, within six weeks of each other.
The first attack involved threatening a woman with a Stanley knife after luring her with drugs and raping her in an alleyway.
The second victim, who was sleeping rough, was approached and threatened with pliers and a screwdriver before being raped.
Ibrahim threatened both women, inflicted severe psychological harm, and was only apprehended through DNA, forensic, and CCTV evidence.
He pled guilty to charges of rape and possessing weapons, and was sentenced to an additional 10 years in prison.
It has been reported that Ibrahim will be deported after serving his current sentence, following the sentencing at Birmingham Crown Court where Judge Murray Creed highlighted the severity of the harm inflicted on his victims.
